Three sisters, Frankie, Alex and Georgie, help their recently widowed mother sell the family house and learn to cope with her drinking problem. Their rebellious sister, Teddy, returns to the Chicago suburb where they all live and discovers her ex-husband, Mitch, is now dating her youngest sister, Frankie.

On the eve of Alex's 15th wedding anniversary, she discovers that her husband likes to dress in women's lingerie.

When Teddy, the problem child of the four Reed sisters, is without work and shelter, her baby sister, Frankie, makes the mistake of offering her a job.
