Heidi and Tim greet the 17 new designers and break the news that the final audition is still to come.

Designers will select real former bridesmaids in their bridesmaid dresses and prove that they can be worn again after they redesign the looks.

The designers set sail with a resort-wear challenge. But when they discover who is actually creating their visions, some designers may want to walk the plank.

The designers are tasked with creating modern American sportswear. Actress January Jones serves as the celebrity guest judge.

The designers are over the top when they discover the next challenge comes with surprise winnings. They must create high fashion looks for an ad campaign for L’Oreal. Designer Naeem Khan serves as the guest judge.

The designers take a trip down memory lane when old photos of themselves pop up in the workroom. They’re quickly brought back when they must design their own fabric and garment to correspond to a memorable time in their lives.

The designers get an opportunity to create a look for the launch of Heidi Klum’s own ready-to-wear activewear line. The remaining designers discover they need to enlist some help when Heidi throws a curveball at them.

The final five designers get treated to a night of luxury in a Penthouse Suite for all their hard work. Mayor Bloomberg presents the designers with the final challenge to determine who moves on to fashion week.

Tim Gunn travels to the homes of the finalists to check in on their progress before they head back to New York. Only three can make the cut to show at fashion week.

The final 3 are blindsided before the runway show at Lincoln Center when they are reunited with all the designers from this season. Tears fly as some can’t handle the criticisms of their fellow designers.
