Kate (Catherine Keener) and Alex (Oliver Platt) are a couple living in a NYC apartment with their teenage daughter. They own the unit next to them and plan to take over the space when it becomes vacant. Kate tries to strike up a friendship with the elderly woman but her two granddaughters (Rebecca Hall and Amanda Pete) don't make things easy.
