Man vs. Wild

Bear brings along Jake Gyllenhaal to test how the actor measures up to unpredictable and unforgiving Mother Nature. Jake will go where Bear goes and eat whatever Bear eats to cope with some of the worst conditions known to man.

Bear must parachute in to reach the remote New Zealand South Island. Crossing the country's highest mountain range and starting a fire in a waterlogged forest are just some of the unpredictable things he faces in this terrain.

Bear Grylls is dropped on an Icelandic ice cap covering an active volcano. He struggles to make headway in blizzard conditions, and the barren land offers little food as he faces swollen rivers and the threat of flash floods.

Bear Grylls is in the red rock canyons of southern Utah, the heart of America's Wild West. Armed only with a lasso, he descends a major rock pinnacle and gets trapped in a narrow slot canyon as he navigates this arid wilderness.

Over 100 people drown each year in New Zealand, and Bear must cross a raging river to head toward civilization. On his journey to safety, he runs out of water, climbs up active volcanic ranges and scales down a waterfall.

Bear Grylls takes the viewer behind the scenes to meet the crew that follows his every step. No matter what dangers he faces, the camera is never far away from the action. Now, the crew gets to tell their side of the story.
