Death Note

College student Light Yagami finds the Death Note, a notebook which can kill anyone whose name is written within its pages. After the power of the notebook saves his father from life-threatening danger, Light teams up with Ryuk and kills a string of vicious criminals. The cold-blooded murderer operating under the name "Kira" discovers that he is being tailed by L, who slowly begins to unravel Kira's true identity. Light is shaken to discover that detective L suspects he may be the real Kira, and decides to kill all of the FBI agents who are following him. L has grown increasingly suspicious of Light after the murder of all the FBI agents, and plants cameras in Light's room without Soichiro's permission. Light gets Ryuk to investigate further and comes up with a plan to deflect L's suspicion. ©Tsugumi Ohba,Takeshi Obata/Shueisha©NIPPON TV

Misa arrives at Light's house unannounced. Once Light gets her out of the house, she offers to kill L using her shinigami eyes. Light, reluctant to get Misa involved, is troubled by the offer. Misa is arrested under suspicion of being the second Kira. Rem decides to save her by having Misa relinquish ownership of her notebook, causing her to lose all memories associated with the Death Note. Light is determined to do everything in his power to catch Kira and clear himself of L's suspicions. When it's discovered that Kira may be connected to the corporation Yotsuba Japan Group, Misa, Matsuda and Light infiltrate the headquarters. ©Tsugumi Ohba,Takeshi Obata/Shueisha©NIPPON TV

Thanks to the rule written in the confiscated notebook, Light is able to clear Misa of suspicion. He then sends her on a mission to recover the Death Note hidden deep within the forest, but the plan fails when an assailant seizes the notebook from her.
