Becker

An enraged and irascible Dr. John Becker (Ted Danson) enters the diner in his typical bad mood and sends the patrons fleeing. After railing to the diner's sexy new owner, Reggie (Terry Farrell), about television talk shows and life in general, Becker complains that his car is on its last leg. (TV-PG)

Becker arrives at the diner to find Reggie and Jake discussing their plans to take a sculpting class. As usual, Reggie's motive is to find personal fulfillment, while Jake is just out to meet chicks. (TV-PG)

Becker is bombarded by sexual overtones throughout the day, beginning with a sensual dream that is interrupted by a neighbor's blaring music. Later, he teases Reggie when she abruptly confesses that jogging relieves her sexual tension. (TV-PG)

Becker enters the diner to find Reggie in a rotten mood. After some prodding, she reveals that her ballplayer boyfriend just dumped her. Later, Becker finds out from a wacky, baseball-obsessed patient that Reggie's ex- boyfriend isn't a ballplayer at all. (TV-PG)

While railing on the evils of Beanie Babies, Becker gets annoyed when an overly friendly delivery guy named Todd stops by the diner. He soon discovers that Todd is Reggie's new boyfriend! (TV-PG)

While Becker is at the diner with Jake and Reggie, an odd little man named Bob enters. Referring to himself in the third person, Bob claims to be Reggie's old high school classmate. Clearly bitter, he brashly declares that he's happily married, successful and no longer needs her prom queen approval. (TV-PG)

Becker throws his back out at home while trying to close a stuck window. Prone and helpless, he grabs the phone and calls Margaret, but she turns him down because it's Friday night. Then he calls Jake, who feigns being ill, but he's really in bed with his real-estate agent. (TV-PG)

Becker promises a friend that he will write a medical article for him, but gets frustrated with numerous distractions. Adding to his irritation, he arrives at his office to find that Linda is sleeping there at night; she's between leases and doesn't have a place to stay. (TV-PG)

Becker has a fear that midgets bring him bad luck and is spooked by the new water guy, who happens to be vertically challenged. He's convinced bad luck will soon follow, and feels his theory is proven correct when he finds his long departed dad, Fred (Dick Van Dyke), waiting in his office. (TV-PG)

Becker learns that an elderly patient, Mr. Fowler, has suffered from a heart attack and calls his daughter to tell her the bad news. When the daughter arrives at the hospital and finds her dad awake and alert, she chastises Becker for wasting her time. (TV-PG)

Becker yells at a woman for letting her child cry uncontrollably, then rants about her bad parenting skills. He feels that modern parents refuse to set boundaries for their kids and society as a whole pays for it. (TV-PG)

Becker is outraged as he tells the gang at the diner that someone broke into his apartment and stole his computer. Bob thinks its a great opportunity for him to rip off the insurance company, and Jake agrees.

Becker starts off the day in a cranky mood when he finds a stray cat in his office, which apparently crawled through a broken window. Linda later discovers that the cat is ill, and Becker is left to take it to the vet, Dr. Harvey Cohen.

Becker arrives at the office carrying the parking meter that ate his quarter. Later, Beckers annoying cousin, Berry, comes by the diner to deliver his taxes and immediately corners him into having dinner.

Becker's patient, Jimmy, is a penniless scalper who is unable to afford his ulcer treatment. In exchange for giving him medical care, Becker settles for home plate tickets to the Mets game that night. Vowing to get there early, Becker begrudgingly agrees to drop Margaret off on his way to the stadium. (TV-PG)

On Jake's way out to meet his girlfriend, Becker warns him that his zipper is down. However, Jake assumes it another one of his pranks and refuses to fall for it. Much to Becker's surprise, Reggie lies to Jake by telling him that he looks great, even though his fly really is down. (TV-PG)
