Now in the final stages of pregnancy, Tessa remains confident that she can combine her career with motherhood, despite her boss’s patronizing attitude. Frank is delighted at the prospect of being a father again, but he’s so caught up in his excitement that he fails to notice his daughter Jade’s mixed feelings about having a sibling.

Following the birth of baby Alice, Tessa relishes her time with her daughter but grows increasingly frustrated about working from home. The arrangement causes tensions with Frank, which are only exacerbated when her father comes to visit.

One of Tessa’s projects at work looks poised to be a huge success, while Frank’s incursion into professional boxing proves less promising. When the couple’s baby-sharing plan hits a snag, they reluctantly hire a nanny but still find themselves without child care during a crucial time.

A furious Tessa flies out to Israel to confront an unrepentant Frank. While he pursues a deal with the winemaker, Tessa stumbles into a new project for the foundation, helping Ethiopian immigrants. Frank then makes a discovery that hardens his resolve to purchase the vineyard, but he meets with resistance.

Undeterred by David’s rejection of his offer, Frank rents a flat in Tel Aviv so he can continue negotiations. Tessa is dismayed by the delay and receives bad news when she’s called back to London for an urgent meeting. Feeling neglected by Frank, she grows closer to Mirav and Sam.

Frank hurries to sell the cache of vintage wine to make himself a fortune. Max gets fleeced by some Israeli card sharks and names Frank to bail him out. And Tessa is disappointed when Frank rejects her plans to create a refuge for battered Ethiopian women-and she’s even more upset when she learns of his subterfuge with the wine.

Struggling to forgive Frank for his underhanded behavior in the wine deal, Tessa also realizes that she has become too emotionally involved with Sam. Although Frank wishes to return to England, Tessa wants to remain in Israel to finish her Ethiopian project. With the couple at a crossroads, Tessa makes a choice.

Frank returns home to London without Tessa and Alice, and Jade comes to stay with him. When Tessa finally arrives, Frank suggests they work together on his business affairs, but she remains mistrustful and turns him down. But when she grows curious about his latest deal, she makes a snap judgment that has larger consequences.

As the wedge between them deepens, Tessa and Frank are forced to reconsider their future together. While Tessa struggles to find a new job, Frank pursues a property deal that introduces him to a woman who sparks his interest.

Now dating Jeanette, Frank has moved into a new flat and files for divorce. Accepting that their marriage is over, Tessa attends legal counseling sessions to work out the terms of their separation, but the two end up bickering. It’s not until a crisis with baby Alice that the pair are able to voice their true feelings.
