Rachel Roth, a teen haunted by dark visions and powers, falls under the wing of Detective Dick Grayson.

Dick arrives on the doorstep of vigilante heroes Hawk and Dove in search of a safe haven for Rachel.

Rachel and Kory travel to the convent where Rachel was raised, while Dick compares his own orphan experience to Rachel's. Rachel befriends Gar Logan.

Now aware of Rachel's power, Dick and Kory unite to find her. Escaped from the convent that sought to imprison her, Rachel puts her trust in Gar who reveals his own transformative powers.

Gar brings Rachel home to his family, a group of misfit medical experiments who will become known as the Doom Patrol, including Robotman, Negative Man and Elastigirl.

When the Nuclear Family tracks them down, Dick, Kory, Rachel and Gar decide to stop running and work together, and the "The Titans" team is formed.

Before he can reunite with the Titans, Dick reluctantly teams with Jason Todd, the new Robin, to catch a serial killer targeting performers from Dick's surrogate circus family from when he was a member of the Flying Graysons.

When the Messenger reveals that Rachel's birth mother is alive and held captive by the Organization in a mysterious psychiatric facility, Rachel is determined to rescue her. The Titans are faced with their deepest vulnerabilities and fears.

As the Titans disband to go their separate ways, Dick turns to old friend and investigative journalist Donna Troy, aka Wonder Girl, for answers. He then realizes that past events have taken more of a psychological toll on him than he previously thought.

This is the origin story of Hank Hall and Dawn Granger's relationship and the loss in their pasts that brings them together as vigilante superheroes Hawk and Dove.

As Kory's memories return, she discovers her true mission regarding Rachel. While Dick and Donna discover Kory's alien origins, Rachel uses her powers to save Gar.

Dick takes a dark journey back to Gotham.
