WOW! The History of Women's Wrestling

From wrestling men at circus sideshows to the main event, it was a hardscrabble journey for groundbreaking female wrestlers like Mildred Burke and The Fabulous Moolah to be taken seriously in the male dominated world of professional wrestling.

Professional Wrestling on television inspires a young David McLane to forge a career in wrestling with the unique vision to create the first all women’s wrestling league, G.L.O.W. - the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.

Influenced by Billie Jean King and Title IX, Los Angeles Lakers co-owner Jeanie Buss made it her mission to promote women in sports. She joins forces with promoter David McLane to create the next stage in women’s pro wrestling – WOW – Women Of Wrestling.

As women wrestlers become the main event, they finally receive all the glory, storylines and fabulous costumes the men got, along with the real injuries that come with it. They wouldn’t have it any other way. Welcome to the future of Women’s Wrestling.
