Season 4 premiere. King Henry VIII marries his fifth wife, a lowborn teenager with a lusty disposition and checkered past.

Season 4. Henry's age catches up to him during Christmas celebrations; the arrogant Lord Surrey takes aim at the powerful Seymours.

Season 4. A newly tolerant Henry VIII forgives the citizens of the North for their rebellion against him, but the queen launches a passionate affair with Culpepper.

Season 4. The king's warm welcome in the North reinvigorates him but his queen's past catches up to her when an anonymous letter exposes her infidelities to Henry.

Season 4. The devastated king banishes his queen from court as investigators round up and torture suspects.

Season 4. Henry finally marries a queen of ability and respect, even as war looms with France.

Season 4. The war with France is nearly lost when one of Henry's officers cleverly engineers a sudden victory, but the triumphant king's health has been weakened by the costly adventure.

Season 4. Accusations of heresy are made against the queen but the ailing Henry has little interest; Lord Surrey faces the ultimate penalty for losing 600 men in an ill-advised action against France.

Season 4 finale. Henry defeats one final political foe before facing his own mortality, but not before a final reckoning with the ghosts of his former queens.
