Alex tries to outrun his responsibilities as the Chosen One by leaving Vega, but an encounter with Gabriel's forces leave him and Michael fighting for their lives. When Riesen goes too far in the name of security, Claire makes a personal sacrifice for the people of Vega. Arika receives a deadly message from her homeland, Helena.

Alex and Michael are at odds after the identity of a higher angel is revealed, forcing Alex to take his case to the Senate. After Claire and William marry, heeding his daughters' wishes, General Riesen departs Vega. Arika greets a delegation from Helena with shocking cargo in tow.
