Burden of Truth

With Millwood divided over a proposed mining project, lawyer and new mother Joanna Chang (Kristin Kreuk) takes on the case of a landowner whose farm is standing in the way of the mine.

Joanna (Kristin Kreuk) searches for her client’s long-lost daughter to protect her client’s legal interests and keep the case alive. Billy Crawford (Peter Mooney) calls on an unexpected expert to help him examine the accident scene. Police Chief Owen Beckbie (Meegwun Fairbrother) follows up on the shocking arrests.

Joanna (Kristin Kreuk) and Billy (Peter Mooney) are blindsided when Joanna is the target of a mysterious criminal investigation. Luna (Star Slade) rushes back to Millwood to aid her sister. Beckbie (Meegwun Fairbrother) helps Kip (Skye Pelletier) deal with a personal problem. Taylor (Anwen O’Driscoll) continues her investigation and makes a shocking discovery.

Joanna (Kristin Kreuk) and Billy (Peter Mooney), struggling to deal with the demands of being new parents, are blindsided when their injunction against the mine is overturned. Luna (Star Slade) tries to find a legal avenue to help a victim of trafficking. The Millwood Police raid a safehouse, where Taylor (Anwen O’Driscoll) makes an important discovery.

With the return of her client’s missing daughter, Joanna (Kristin Kreuk) sees an opportunity to restart the case against the mine, but as she and Billy (Peter Mooney) investigate further, it’s clear nothing about the Oro North mine is as it seems; Luna (Star Slade) and Stevie’s (Brynn Godenir) promise to provide legal help to Dee (Victoria Turko) leads her to a surprising potential defendant.

With one day left before the disciplinary hearing, Joanna (Kristin Kreuk) and Billy (Peter Mooney) set out to finish the case against the mine.
