Eight former finalists are back in the Food Network Star kitchen for a second shot at stardom. For the Star Challenge, they must marry two unlikely favorites, cereal and dessert, and show off their creations in a one-minute demo.

For the Mentor Challenge, the competitors are expected to create something new using the ingredients of bizarre vintage dishes. For the Star Challenge, the contestants divide up into teams to plan and create a menu for delivery.

Each competitor gets a summer theme and must livestream for eight minutes, and fellow contestants join each other's streams to ask challenging questions. Valerie Bertinelli and Tyler Florence determine who wins.

Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay meet the finalists at Universal Orlando Resort to kick off the competition. Each finalist must create a portable version of their signature dish and convince a park guest to try it.

The remaining finalists create food podcasts about colorful snacks and film field reports from Los Angeles' hottest food hall, The Proud Bird. Richard Blais and Food Network Star alum Damaris Phillips serve as guest judges.

The finalists think they're cooking solo at an exclusive private event for foodies and tastemakers, but en route to their destination, Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis reveal a twist. Tyler Florence is a guest judge.

The tables are turned, and the finalists get help from People Magazine's Jess Cagle as they judge Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis on the dishes that made them famous.

The finalists make dishes inspired by the movie Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation and take on a few new Food Network titles. Actress Fran Drescher, Chef Alex Guarnaschelli and comedian Loni Love serve as guest judges.

The finalists update their family favorites with a culinary twist and film Instagram stories while they cook. Then they cater a VIP dinner with ingredients inspired by shark diets. Molly Yeh and Casey Webb are guest judges.

The final four have to handle the rigors of live TV by producing their own livestream demos with on-camera talent Anne Burrell. Then they host their own "in the kitchen" shows with guest Ree Drummond.

Eliminated chefs compete against each other in a four-week challenge to see who has what it takes to rejoin the competition.

The winner of Star Salvation returns, and three finalists are chosen to film pilot episodes with guest directors Sunny Anderson, Robert Irvine and Duff Goldman.
